The Power of Confession

Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV)

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Confession means to speak the same thing. As believers, we are to speak the same thing that God says in His Word. We should speak in line with God’s Word. We are who God says we are in His Word. He says we are more than conquerors, so we are more than conquerors. Therefore, we should talk like conquerors and act like conquerors. God calls us kings, so we should speak and act like a king.

Confession is what some people call positive affirmation. You must confess your dream until it comes into reality. There is power in words.

Proverbs 18:21 (NLT)

The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.

The words that you speak are very important. The Word of God says that death and life are in the power of the tongue. With your tongue you either speak death to your life or life to your life. Confession brings possession. Constantly confess what you want to be and what you want to accomplish in life.

Mark 11:23

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says.

Jesus said that you can have what you say. Many people are doing the opposite of what Jesus said. They are saying what they have. They say they are sick, or they’re broke, or they don’t get any good breaks, etc. And they are going to keep having what they are saying.

Joel 3:10 (NKJV)

Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ ”

What we need to do is say what we want to happen. For example, when you’re sick, say I’m healed. When you have lack, say I have abundance. When you are weak, say I’m strong. And when you do that, you’re going to have what you say.
